There are 3 different types of police in Spain, which can be confusing.
The Policia Municipal or local police are controlled by the town halls and deal with theft and other crimes. The Policia Municipal numbers are:

The Guardia Civil (in green) is responsible for traffic control and driving offences.
The number for all areas is 062. The Policia Nacional deal with crimes on a national level.
